Exploring the holy texts

Daily immersion in God's WORD yields tremendous results in terms of spiritual growth, maintaining enthusiasm in life, and in answering our prayers for insight and resolving problems. There are a variety of ways you can stay "plugged in" to the WORD.

Keep a personal study bible with you. If you have a favorite copy of the bible, whether it's a study Bible or a small pocketbook version, having the Bible always with you will remind and encourage you to open it daily!

Belong to a Bible study group. We recommend if you have a smart phone or a computer that you download the YouVersion Bible App. You can join a group of friends or start a group that are reading from a Bible Study Plan. Everyone in your Bible study plan can see your highlighted notes, your comments about the lessons, and you can see what's on their minds. This helps us stay on track, to know we're studying together.

Subscribe to a daily scripture or Bible-based blog. If we're going to be "distracted" by content we subscribe to (like Facebook, Instagram, etc.) we can choose to be "instructed" rather than "distracted" by having a bible blog come our way every day. What a great gift during the hectic day to put us back on track.

You can also increase your study power by subscribing to the free Strong Concordance app for your smartphone or computer. This application contains multiple different versions of the Bible that you can compare and contrast, as well as giving you the Greek and Hebrew wordings for deeper study. We highly recommend this application.

Set a time each day for Bible study. Just as we set aside time for meals, relaxation, and time for work or school, set aside a time that this incredibly meaningful activity receives your full attention.

If you spend time in God's WORD, you will never be sorry! The Word will "unpack" into tremendous insights, gradually at first and then increasing over time. Eventually, your study life and prayer life will begin to overtake your "worldly life" and your walk with Jesus and the Holy Spirit will feel as though it is a continuous unbroken flow of prayer and communication. Enjoy and God Bless!
